Hello, old friend.
When I was a little girl, I wanted more than anything to be a mom. When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I never answered with, "I want to be a teacher," or, "I want to be a doctor." Instead, it was always, "I want to be a mom!"
Being Henley's mom has been such an adventure. She lights up my life in so many ways and I wouldn't trade it for anything. We've been in Cedar City finishing up my degree since she was about nine months old, so it's been the only place she's really known as home–other than holidays and summers we've spent with my parents.
Jordan moved north a couple of weeks ago and it's just been Henley and I. Our Cedar City story will end in about a month and it's very bittersweet. The past three years have tested me in basically every way–physically, mentally, spiritually, financially. It's been a struggle, but also a wonderful adventure.
We have a busy month, as I wrap up my last classes before my student teaching in the fall. It's just Henley and I, and I hope the end of our adventure here turns out to be as sweet as the rest of the time we were here. I have a sassy little threenager now, which makes for all sorts of laughs.
